Audify on Windows vs Mac: what is the same and what is different
Short answer: both desktop apps are free with no ads and nothing to buy, both play 127 audio and video formats through bundled decoders, both have the 10-band equalizer with AutoEQ import, gapless, crossfade, ReplayGain, lyrics, internet radio and video. The Mac build adds bit-perfect exclusive-mode output, DSD (decoded to PCM), an acoustic-fingerprint duplicate finder and Auto-DJ, and ships 50 interface locale tables; the Windows build installs and updates from the Microsoft Store, has five interface languages, Ctrl+K search and share cards, and plays through the shared system mixer. Common questions
Which one should I choose?
You don't choose — you get the one for the computer you own; both are free. If you have both a Mac and a PC, expect the Mac app to be the more complete one today (exclusive output, DSD, duplicate finder, Auto-DJ).
Is the Windows app missing bit-perfect output for good?
Today it plays through the shared system mixer and has no exclusive-mode path; the bit-perfect work is written against macOS CoreAudio. This page will be updated if that changes — we don't promise features that don't exist.
Are both really free with no ads?
Yes. The desktop apps have no advertising and no purchase code at all. The free Android and iPhone apps are ad-supported with an optional Premium.
Why is the Mac app not on the Mac App Store?
It is distributed as a direct download, signed and notarized by Apple under the Developer ID of Audify Tech Private Limited, so macOS Gatekeeper verifies it before it opens. The Windows app is on the Microsoft Store.
Do playlists or libraries sync between my PC and Mac, or with my phone?
No. Each app plays the files stored on that device; there is no cross-device sync. Both desktop apps import and export M3U playlists, which is the practical way to move a playlist.
