Audify Music Player for Mac

Audify for Mac is a free, Apple-notarized music and video player for macOS 11 or later, with native builds for Apple Silicon (M1–M4) and Intel — no ads and no in-app purchases. It plays 127 formats through the bundled libVLC engine (FLAC, ALAC, APE, WavPack, DSD and more), imports AutoEQ headphone profiles into its 10-band equalizer, finds duplicates by acoustic fingerprint, and can take exclusive, bit-perfect control of your audio device — normally a paid feature on macOS. It is a direct download from this site, not a Mac App Store app.

Why trust this page? It is maintained by the Audify team. The claims are verified against the shipped macOS build (v1.0.10) — its decoder list and its CoreAudio output path — and the limits are stated as plainly as the features.

What Audify for Mac does

  • Bit-perfect playback: an exclusive-mode CoreAudio output that takes sole ownership of the output device and switches it to the file's sample rate, so macOS neither mixes nor resamples
  • 127 audio and video formats via the bundled libVLC engine — FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, Opus, OGG, APE, WavPack, DSD (decoded to PCM), TAK, OptimFROG, Shorten, Musepack, TrueHD and tracker modules
  • 10-band equalizer with AutoEQ headphone-correction import (parametric EQ files from autoeq.app)
  • Headphone crossfeed, ReplayGain (track or album), gapless, adaptive crossfade, skip silence, sleep timer with fade-out
  • Duplicate finder that compares audio fingerprints rather than filenames
  • Auto-DJ that extends the queue on-device and states its reason for each pick; command palette (⌘K); M3U import/export; tag editor
  • Internet radio and local video playback

What it doesn't do — said plainly

The limits matter as much as the features. Here is what the Mac app does not do today.

  • Not on the Mac App Store — it is a direct download; macOS Gatekeeper verifies the Apple notarization before it opens
  • DSD is decoded to PCM rather than passed through natively
  • No network or NAS streaming
  • Tag editing is basic next to Swinsian; newer screens are not yet translated
  • No cross-device sync with the mobile apps

Audify on your other devices

The four apps are separate builds by the same team. Each plays the music stored on that device; there is no cross-device library sync. Every official download is on the download page.

Common questions

Is Audify free on Mac?

Yes. The Mac app is a free download with no ads and no in-app purchases. It is signed and notarized by Apple under the Developer ID of Audify Tech Private Limited.

Which Mac build should I download?

Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3 or M4) or Intel — there are separate builds. Apple menu → About This Mac: a "Chip" line means Apple Silicon; a "Processor" line means Intel.

Does it play FLAC and ALAC?

Yes — natively, along with APE, WavPack, AIFF, Opus and the rest of the 127 formats the bundled libVLC engine decodes. DSD plays too, decoded to PCM.

What does bit-perfect mean here?

macOS normally mixes and resamples every app's audio to one system sample rate. Audify's exclusive-mode output takes sole ownership of the output device and switches it to the file's own rate, so nothing is resampled or mixed on the way to your DAC. It is free; on macOS this is normally a paid feature.

Why isn't it on the Mac App Store?

The Mac app is distributed directly from audifyplayer.com as a notarized DMG. The Windows app is on the Microsoft Store and the mobile apps are on Google Play and the App Store — the Mac download page is the only official source for the Mac build.
