Offline music player without ads: what's free in Audify, and what Premium removes
Short answer: Audify for Android is free and plays the music on your phone without an internet connection, and the free version shows ads. Nothing is locked behind a payment: the equalizer, lyrics, radio, ringtone cutter, sleep timer and every other feature work in the free version. Premium, a monthly or yearly subscription, removes the ads and changes nothing else. If you want no ads and nothing to pay, Audify for Windows and Mac has neither.
What the free version includes
Everything. The free version is the whole app: it plays the MP3, FLAC, WAV, AAC, OGG and other audio files stored on your phone, with no account and no internet connection needed for your own music. It has the 10-band equalizer with bass boost, virtualizer and reverb, lyrics (looked up once, then saved on the phone), more than 50,000 internet radio stations, the ringtone cutter, the sleep timer and Calm sounds, playlists, a video player, Chromecast, Android Auto and Google Drive backup.

Where the ads appear, and where they never do
In the free version, ads sit in a few places: a banner at the bottom of the player screen, an ad that can take the place of the album art while a song plays (it has a close button), a single ad in your list of songs or playlists, and banners in the radio player. Moving between some screens, such as opening the player, the lyrics or a video, can also bring up a full-screen ad. Exactly which of these you see can change from one app version to the next.
Ads never appear in the notification or on the lock screen, and skipping a song from the notification, your headphones or the car never brings up a full-screen ad. Nothing is shown while the app plays in the background. Ads are set to play muted, so the song you are listening to keeps playing.
If the ads bother you, you are not alone: they are the most common complaint in our reviews, and the reason Premium exists. We would rather say that plainly than have you find out after installing.
Google Play's rules back this up for every app: ads may only appear inside the app that shows them, and a full-screen ad has to let you close it within 15 seconds. Paid for Premium and still seeing ads?
Premium restores itself when the phone is signed in to the Google account that paid for it. If the ads came back after a reset or on a new phone, go through the four checks that bring Premium back. None of them charges you a second time.
Why a free music player shows ads at all
A music player is never finished. Android changes every year, phone makers keep changing how they treat apps running in the background, and new formats and devices keep arriving. Free players pay for that work in one of a few ways: ads, a paid upgrade, donations, or a developer's spare time. Audify chose ads with an optional way to remove them, so the whole app stays free for anyone who cannot or does not want to pay.
Be careful with anything that promises Audify Premium for free. APK files offered as Premium unlocked or mod versions on other sites are not published by Audify Tech and can carry malware. No ads and nothing to pay: Audify on a computer
Audify for Windows, from the Microsoft Store, and Audify for Mac, a direct download signed and notarized by Apple, are free with no ads and nothing to buy. They play the music files on your computer, with a 10-band equalizer and internet radio.

Is there a version of Audify without ads?
Yes, on a computer: Audify for Windows and Mac is free with no ads and nothing to buy. On Android and iPhone the free version shows ads, and a Premium subscription, called Audify Pro in the app, removes them.
Does Premium unlock extra features?
No. Premium removes the ads. The player's features, from the equalizer to lyrics, radio and the ringtone cutter, are all in the free version.
Will an ad stop my music?
No. Ads are set to play muted, and the song keeps playing while one is on screen; the music only pauses when you open a video, as it would anyway. Skipping songs from the notification, your headphones or the car never brings up a full-screen ad, and no ad appears on the lock screen.
Do ads need an internet connection?
Yes. Ads are loaded over the internet and use a little data, so with no connection new ads cannot load, while your own music plays exactly the same. An ad that loaded just before you went offline can still appear.
