What are collaborative playlists (Mixes) and how to make one

Short answer: a Mix is a shared playlist you build with a friend. In Audify, create a Mix, invite one friend, and you can each add up to 15 songs. You need internet to hear the songs your friend added; download the Mix to keep it in your local playlists.

Note: Mixes roll out gradually. If you don’t see Mixes in your version yet, the feature may not be enabled for your device — your normal playlists work exactly the same.

The 5 stepsMixes vs a normal playlistCommon questions

Make a Mix in 5 steps

  1. 1. Open the Mixes section. In Audify, go to the Mixes area of your playlists.
  2. 2. Create a new Mix. Start a Mix and give it a name you and your friend will recognize.
  3. 3. Invite one friend. Share the invite so one friend can join and contribute to the same Mix.
  4. 4. Each add up to 15 songs. You and your friend each add up to 15 tracks, building a shared playlist together.
  5. 5. Download it to keep offline. Download the Mix to save it into your local Playlists tab so your own songs play offline afterwards.

How Mixes differ from a normal playlist

A normal playlist is yours alone and works entirely offline. A Mix is collaborative — two people add to it — so hearing the songs a friend contributed uses the internet, since those tracks live on their device, not yours.

Once you download a Mix, your own songs in it play offline like any other playlist. It is a nice middle ground between a private library and full social streaming.

Common questions

How many people and songs can a Mix have?

A Mix is shared between you and one friend, and each of you can add up to 15 songs.

Do I need internet for a Mix?

You need internet to hear the songs your friend added, because those play from their device. Your own songs play offline, and downloading the Mix keeps them local.

Can I keep a Mix offline?

Yes — download the Mix and it lands in your local Playlists tab, where your own tracks play without a connection.
